HereYou (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website www.hereyou.ai and the HereYou voice companion service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:

  • Gifter information: First name (required) provided when purchasing a gift session.
  • Recipient information: First name and mobile phone number (required to deliver the gift via SMS).
  • Personal message: An optional message the gifter includes for the recipient.
  • Session metadata: Call duration, timestamps, session status, and call count. We use post-call AI-generated summaries to provide conversation continuity across sessions. These summaries capture themes and topics discussed — not word-for-word transcripts.
  • Payment information: Processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Technical data: IP addresses (for rate limiting and abuse prevention only), browser type, and device information collected automatically when you visit our site.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Voice recordings or audio files from conversations
  • Word-for-word conversation transcripts
  • Health or medical diagnoses (crisis detection flags may be stored without associated conversation content)
  • Location data beyond what your IP address provides

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver gift session links to recipients via SMS
  • To process payments securely through Stripe
  • To provide conversation continuity — so the AI remembers context from previous sessions (subscription users)
  • To send service-related messages such as session reminders, disconnection recovery links, and subscription confirmations
  • To enforce opt-out requests and prevent abuse
  • To improve the quality of the service

4. SMS Messaging

When a gifter purchases a session, the recipient receives an SMS containing a link to start their conversation. By providing a phone number during purchase, the gifter confirms they have the recipient's consent to receive this message.

Additional SMS messages may include:

  • Session delivery links (1 message per gift purchase)
  • Disconnection recovery links if a call drops
  • Subscription confirmation messages

Message frequency: Typically 1–3 messages per gift session. Subscription users may receive occasional service messages.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or visit your session page and click the opt-out link. For help, reply HELP or contact support@hereyou.ai.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only with services required to operate HereYou:

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

  • Gift sessions: Session records are retained for 90 days for service quality and abuse prevention, then automatically deleted.
  • Subscription data: Retained for the duration of the subscription plus 30 days after cancellation.
  • Conversation context: AI-generated session summaries for subscribers are retained for the duration of the subscription and deleted within 30 days of cancellation.
  • Opt-out records: Retained indefinitely to permanently honor your preference.
  • Payment records: Retained as required by financial regulations.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure database access controls, and encrypted payment processing. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using HereYou, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

9. Children's Privacy

HereYou is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
